Yankees: Five Underrated FA Starting Pitchers

Once again the Yankees are looking for starting pitching this offseason, but with so many options, who should the Yankees target?

As the old adage goes, “you can never have enough pitching.” This seems to ring true for the Yankees every year, as the rotation heading into the season is usually filled with a number of “question marks.” Coming off of multiple Tommy John surgeries, Jameson Taillon pitched well but succumbed to ankle problems late in the year. Corey Kluber had his moments, but just like Taillon, spent plenty of time on the IL. Currently, it seems that Kluber’s time in New York is done, and with Luis Severino not having pitched a full season since 2018, the Yankees could use a starter or two to shore up the rotation. Of course, players such as Robbie Ray, Kevin Gausman, and Carlos Rodón, are the talk of the town and are due for massive contracts. But outside of the big names, the FA market for pitching is significantly weaker than in previous years. Here are 5 pitchers who haven’t stolen any headlines this offseason, but could help bolster the Yankees rotation.
